Jun 27, 2023 · Sheriff Jeff Shaver welcomes two new deputies to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. According to Sheriff Shaver, the need for additional deputies has increased with the increase of traffic and people living and visiting Cherokee County. The County Commission also recognized that need and agreed to fund the two additional deputies. The current sheriff, Jeff Shaver, was elected in 2006 and is the second former Alabama State Trooper to hold the office. Below is a list of the former Sheriffs.
